Storm Damage and What NOT To Do

Never attempt to vacuum water up with a household vacuum cleaner. Leave the dirty work to us!

Storm damage is the last thing on your mind until it strikes. There are many tips on what to do in case a storm hits but what about after? Today, we want to focus on what NOT to do after the storm hits and water has gotten into your home:

  • Hang furs and leather goods. It is not a good idea to love them in place
  • Never leave books, magazines or other colored items on wet floors or carpets
  • Water removal requires advanced equipment – don’t us a household vacuum cleaner to remove water
  • Never use household appliances or turn the television on. The water most likely has soaked through the carpets and flooring. This may cause an electrical hazard.
